• Promote hand washing among all staff members.

• instruct staff members to often wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.

• If possible, utilize no-touch dispensers for paper towels and soap.

• Post reminders about proper hand washing near sinks (posters available from ServiceMaster).

• Always have enough cleaning and disinfection supplies on hand.

• Make respiratory etiquette a priority for all staff members.

• Tell staff members to cover their mouths when coughing or to sneeze with an elbow, a shoulder, or a tissue.

• Provide personnel with tissues and touch-free garbage cans.

• Conduct routine environmental cleaning and disinfection with an emphasis on high-touch surfaces.

• Clean and sanitize every high-touch surface, such as chair arms, door handles, light switches, stair rails, elevator buttons, microwaves, coffee stations, sink handles, water fountains, and shared workstations or instructional materials, at least once per day.
